Still too busy at work to get out at the moment, so another older shot from a few years ago:

The cloud, flock and lone bird make it stand out from otherwise ubiquitous windmills. Great color too. And, with the horizon in the middle, no perspective distortion ;)
-
The photo is very clean with vibrant colors, great sky and impeccable framing but the birds (ducks?) are the the key element.
-
This is pure Kitsch, but very well mastered. I am fond of it :)
-
It is very nicely done, and yes, kitsch, and yes the waterfowl make the shot, but without the other elements, both content, composition & light, it wouldn't be as good. I'd imagine the Netherlands tourist board would make good use of such an image

+1. Should be on the cover of something.
-
This is delicious.
Nicely done!
-
Perfect photo! The composition, the lighting, the bird in the foreground and the ones flying and the clouds, absolutely beautiful.
-
This is pure Kitsch...
I guess I myself have been doing kitsch for so long that I forgot that's what it is ;)
-
Kitsch or not, this is outstanding work.

:o Oh, this is so great. A mass-outing. I'm not alone with my hidden shame! A couple of well skilled photographers confess to kitsch. I will preserve this thread until I've passed.

Thanks all.
Kitsch takes a lot of work to produce. To finally get that image required 12 trips to the same place over a period of 3-4 months. With it being a 3 hour round trip, there was a lot of patience and practice that finally resulted in that photograph.
Having produced that one, I haven't been back. I don't think I can improve on it further.
-
The rest have said it better than I can. Well done.

Bravo for your perseverance!

Everything in its place .... corner to corner perfection ;)
-
Even the first windmill's blades lend themselves to the perspective. Well done. Love the birds.

Kitsch or not, I don't care, I mean how many of us would walk past this photographic opportunity?
Definitely a potential magazine front cover I think. The vibrant colours, content, framing and reflections etc, all fit together nicely and make this image a very pleasant thing to look at indeed ;D

A magazine cover? I suppose someone would splash titles & the like over it. I'd just put a simple line underneath a poster-sized print - "Visit the Netherlands". That would do it.

A simple "Come." would be enough. It's obvious that you're not invited to come to Scotland. ;D

Harald, I think a magazine that simply said "Come" on it's front cover, may well illicit a response from a different type of clientele than you would expect :D
In fact this reminds me of a funny image I once saw in a magazine some years ago, it was, well why describe it, because I have found it and here it is -

Of course the spelling is totally wrong ...
... because it should be spelt as Favourite ;D

This is getting OT and away from the original image, but the sign reminds me of the movie 'Crazy People', with Dustin Hoffman and Darryl Hannah.

Extreme truth in advertising... ;D
