Title: Edge of the Abyss
Post by: churly on September 01, 2013, 12:41:04 pm
I find this shot both intriguing because of the dynamics and disturbing because of the lack of anywhere to rest the gaze.
I'm curious what others think.

Isaac - You are probably right.
I wasn't thinking of printing this one because as much as I like the dynamics, I don't think the image holds together unless the objective is to produce tension.  I am curious whether that is a personal reaction or more general.

I agree. The whirlpool alone and its attendant flows would be good. The foam pile just splits our attention.

Aloha,

This is very nice, some of the highlights are blown which is an issue and the dominate shape is a bit over powering, which stops your story dead in its tracks. but other compositions like this would be worth exploring artistically.
