Title: RZ Lenses and MFDBs

Hi all,

With a little luck selling some Nikon gear, I'm getting closer to getting a Leaf Aptus II 7 back.  I may get the DF+ kit, may not...on the fence.  I will definitely be using it on my RZ67 ProII, thus my questions....

I understand using, for example, a Mamiya 110 f2.8 on the RZ67 with film gives approx the equivalent of 55mm on 35mm.  I'm thinking the same may not be true when used with a "crop" MFDB sensor such as the Leaf II 7 (48x36).  Am I correct? If so, what is the conversion?

Here is a focal length visualizer (https://digitaltransitions.com/page/tech-camera-visualizers) which allows you to compare the image produced with either a 35mm camera or an RZ with film.

Given the three aspect ratios (6:7, 3:2, 4:3) there is no single "correct" answer to what the equivalent will be as it matters a lot whether you are matching the vertical or horizontal.

If you're working with a value added dealer you could do a test shoot with such a back before making your decision (note this is a biased suggestion as we are such a dealer). There is no substitute to actually trying it in image making.

without doing any calculations, my experience was, that I switched one lense wider - so I used the 90 for what was my 110 before, the 65 for the 90,... and sold my 250 ;-)

If you need some stuff, I still got the 90, 65 and 180, one RZ ProII Body + Winder, 2 Filmmags, release cable and the original Leaf adapter from H to RZ (incl. screen and cables) for sale.
