Title: Light Room 4 Keeps starting up

I recently installed LR4. I rarely use it--I feel more comfortable with Bridge and PS. When ever I access an exterior drive for back up, or load a memory card, or  open a directory in Windows Explorer, LR 4 launches itself. I then wait for it to initialize, then shut it down. How can I disable LR4 from automatically opening?

Dave, go into Lightroom and select preferences.
You can change this behaviour to stop Lightroom loading and wanting to import images in the circumstances that you mention.
I am not at home with access to Lr right now but it should not be hard to navigate around in preferences.

David,

 Library module>edit tab>preferences>General tab>import options>uncheck "Show import dialogue when memory card is detected".
