I prefer the B&W. I think this should be shot at a different time of day to have light on the structure, which would improve the photo immensely.

It could go both ways. B/W excels at showing texture and there lots of texture here in the bark and
bricks etc. On the other hand there is a fair amount of color in the first image. I flipped a coin and it came up B/W for me.

B&W for me too! The color version is not spectacular enough and the B&W version has all those textured details…

I also vote for the b&w, although I think it would look good in colour if the light were more interesting. Either way, a little perspective correction seems to be in order.

I'm with the black and white folks but am concerned that there is "conflict" between the two areas of interest, the tree and the house. I believe the house is more important so would try to emphasize it, ? brighter, darken the tree?
