I went to a location that I know well to test out a new set of Lee filters, with no hope of getting anything that hasn't been shot at least another million times. There was no sky, only fog that gave me the chance to produce an image that could tell something. After the afternoon I spent in San Francisco, I had some contrasting feelings that I expressed through the empty space at the top and the right of the frame, and through colors. I like the idea of it and creating something out of nothing from a challenging environment. I'll have to have the same attitude as well when I go out to shoot. Like the composition a lot. I'd like to see some other variations on this if you are so inclined to provide them. (e.g. B/W, Desaturated images, etc.) The colors are the only thing that I'm on the fence about, but that may just be me.

I was planning to try out the GND filters, but there was no sky and no sunset, so my filters stayed in the bag. The wind was very strong though, so strong that any capture longer than few seconds was blurred. I had to open up quite a bit to get the exposure around 2.5s to get a sharp image, and still I managed only a couple of sharp shots out of about thirty.

We get some pretty dense fog in this area but not typically accompanied by a lot of wind. Sometimes if it's marginal, I've used the camera bag to add weight to the tripod. It can help.
Hopefully that capture will be in a local gallery before too long.
