Love the waterfall. Could you humor me and try compare a version that adds post vignetting and turn up the shadows darker on the rocks?
I believe this will make the waterfall really pop out of the image and draw the eye to really focus on the flowing strands of water.

I agree that the second is a much more appealing version. I think the vignette is rather overdone, though.

I think the vignette is the right idea too and I am not too sure much more subtle it could be made.
