Title: Root creature vertical & horizontal

Yes, they do.
The horizontal is just right, while the vertical feels as if you cut off the creature's tail.

I saw the creature right away, even on the vertical. But my vote is for the horizontal.

I saw the creature right away, even on the vertical. But my vote is for the horizontal.

I think it's more obviously visible on the vertical crop, but I agree that the horizontal works better. Nicely seen - and lovely light.

Keep the horizontal! For me, the vertical is a bit cramped but not by much.

Definitely the horizontal, for reasons already mentioned.
