Title: GPS files by Holux M-241 for use with LightRoom
Post by: Robert-Peter Westphal on May 28, 2013, 05:25:31 pm
Hello,

I bought a Holix M-241 device to record all of my tracks and tag my photos in Lightroom with these information. The device comes with a simple program that can be used to download the trackfile in a special binary format. Furthermore, there is an option to convert the binary to GPX which I thought is exactly the file LightRoom needs.

But, when I try to load the file into Lr, I receive an error-message stating ' error while loading the tracklog'.

Formerly I tried GPX files created by my iPhone and these run great.

Does anybody else use this device and have an idea what could be wrong ?

Many thanks and best wishes

Robert

If I remember correctly LR is very pedantic about the file format of the gpx files.
You may need to open them in a text editor and re-save them with ANSI encoding.

Hi Robert,

I don't have the Holux, but apparently there is a problem with the GPX files the Holux software produces.
You can find a workaround with GPS Babel here (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4324468#4324468).
Hope this helps.

Mit freundlichen Gruß
