I really thought this would appeal to all you abstractionists. Good color, good rhythm, and it's in focus. Maybe I should change the title to River Backwash Abstraction

Never mind the title. Beautiful colors and shapes. What else do you want?

... Good color, good rhythm, and it's in focus...

If you do not love yourself, who else will? ;D

On a serious note, it is a fine abstract, enhanced by the ambiguous sense of scale (wouldn't that make it a street shot, rather than a river shot? ;))

If anything, I would get rid of (crop out?) the dark patch along the left edge.

Just as an experiment, I also did this as a B&W to see if the tonal qualities would hold. If for nothing else, it solves the dark patch on the left side's issue (which I kept to balance out the darker areas upper mid and mid right).

+1. I like the colour version.

A well-executed photo, but I can't get past the "Yuck" feeling as I look at the subject matter! No offence to the photographer, but it's one for my wall, thanks.

Most of the discoloration comes from the oak pollen which is covering everything in the world these days. The other has been created by the release of water from an upstream dam and this is the backwash. No sewage matter at all, but it does take on a bit of a "yucky" texture. It was one of the reasons I gave it an "Amber Bock" colorization in the first presentation. I think this one is going to print well.
