Just a shot from about 1994 --walking the streets .. there is a depth with German optics and the 120 resolving film properties 8)

Sorry to be critical, but did you sharpen the image before posting it? It does not look terribly sharp to me and I think texture photos need to be terribly sharp.
There are lots of interesting objects on the door and I would like to suggest getting closer with just one point of interest. Maybe just the door handle or the fancy iron work to the left of it?
You wouldn't get as much of the door in the image but I suggest, once you see two rows/columns, you don't need to see more. When you get closer, you will be able to bring out more detail in the wood.
Your title says "Just a little detail" but I guess the panel you have shot is about 2.5 m square—that's a lot of detail in my opinion!

I sharpen slightly ... with smart sharpen settings .. I guess no one ever looks that close at a 16 X 16 on the wall ~behind glass /\ Or at least ever brought the suggestion to my attention ... I will try to sharpen a tad bit. ;) Always a different set of criteria for a modern digital shot and one that is scanned :o

Don't think I could risk cropping that close -- even with a 120 film scanned ... probably really fall apart. Too bad I know longer have my Minolta scanner ... still waiting for them to get the bugs out of the new Plustek ...

I like this one too. It's not as simple or 3D compared to the first photo but those historical (as you call them) doors are so much more interesting than the current all glass doors.
