So nice Dave. The tonality of the water provides great motion and depth.
-
Simply beautiful with just the right amount of mystery to draw me in.
-
Awwww! (a compliment ;))
-
Very effective abstract.
Asks all sorts of questions and just tantalizingly fails to answer any definitively.

I agree completely with Terry and Tony, and perhaps with Slobodan (but I wonder: Is he getting a bit too long-winded?) ;D
-
My kind of image, Dave. Very nice.

Definitely different from the usual images posted and a pleasant change. Not much going on in the image so little to comment on other than well done. :)
-
Beautiful image, Dave.
-
It works very well.

... Slobodan (but I wonder: Is he getting a bit too long-winded?)
Right... I was wandering myself about that fourth "w" ;D
-
Thanks Guys :) I am really happy that you like it ;D
I was very hesitant in posting that original image, as it is just so abstract that I didn't know what people would think of it, although my other half loves it and she is my fiercest critic, but none the less I was still even more hesitant to come back to the forum to see what your comments might be.
So after taking a deep breath and pushing my luck, I wonder what you might think of this next image, Trees Reeds and Loch? Which is even more abstract, but is exactly the image I wanted to make.
There is no advanced PS trickery in either of these two images BTW, other then dust spot removal and a little colour balancing, they are both pretty much straight out of the camera, although I do expect that this second image will not be to everyone's taste.

... pushing my luck...
You are ;)

The first one is superb and the second is very nice. In fact, I find it much more interesting than "Rhein II" (sorry, SB), but not up to the first one.
-
Love the first one; the second one doesn't do much for me...
Mike.
P.S. While I don't want to trivialize Dave's excellent work, it did remind me somewhat of this. :)

The first is appealing and thought-provoking. The strong line in the center leads my brain to assume the 2 halves of the 2nd are two versions stacked vertically.
Though why I don't know, since I compare versions horizontally, conditioned, I suppose, by the way I read.
Well done.

Don't want to hijack your thread with my own image without permission, but I have a similar (in vein) image I took on a cruise ship elevator i would like to share.

OK no probs, can we see it then?

A vertical view of a glass elevator as it goes 14 stories down at a rather rapid pace.

This is a second verion with a faster shutter speed and only a two floor drop.

Yes I very much like the second one, nicely seen and captured - excellent..

Chris, both are fabulous!
P.S. And yes, I do see the meaning of life in both of them, but will probably tell you more about it over a beer at some point ;)

+1 (including the beer)

All of the images in this post are pleasing, but your first one really speaks to me, Dave. Just the right mix of abstraction and tonalities.
-
Chris, I find the second one too defined, but I really like the first one. Seems to be a pattern here!
Mike.

Other abstracts.
The first early in the morning, the second in mid-day light ;)

Yes, I quite like the first one, it almost looks like an hieroglyph.
Here is another one, I call this one 3D for obvious reasons.

Another good one.
