Here is a topic about our friends the trees. Some may say "there is already an another thread somewhere in the forum" but I find this other topic not as visible as I wish, thus... this thread.
Before all, pardon my "miserable" contribution ;)

You'll find we've already got one of these - Love those Trees (http://www.luminous-landscape.com/forum/index.php?topic=40005.800)

Here is a thread about trees, she is open so post a much as you want, share what you captured around the world.
I like your tree but I don't like the blurred thing in the middle of the frame, poking me in the eye.

Hello Chairman Bill,
I think this thread is ok here. The other is too buried inside the forum :) I think "trees" deserve the right to be in the "nature and Landscape" forum.

Hello Jeremy,
Yes, me too. It is the face of a large branch cut; had no way to get around.

There is absolutely nothing to be gained by having parallel threads, especially when the OP photograph is such a miserable representation of the theme.

You are pretty hard with me !! But be sure I didn't seen the other thread. I think you get a bit too far on this one. But if your are the kind of guy always on "procedures" I asked to remove this thread ;)
LL sound like DPR with posts like yours :)
EDIT :
Moderator do not see any problem about this thread here so lets post some photos and less speech about forum features ;)

Thank you Andy, I particularly love the dead one on the beach.
Here another "miserable" photographs of trees :)
-
Ok, this thread has me looking over my old folders...four more "trees" that I haven't looked at in a while. Each has its own "personality" of course.
-
I'll play. Here are four. The first two are the same location on different days. They're from the top of Mt Scott in the Wichita Mountains of SW Oklahoma.
#3 is from Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs and the last one is near my house in central Oklahoma.

First you sabotaged the Sigma thread... then the Recent Professional Works thread... now Love Those Trees thread. What's next?

Andy, I like the first very much. The second has an air of unreality about it which is disturbing.

Very, very, very high level, really a feast for the eye.
P.S. Perhaps in the third one I'd like a bit more space under the tree.

Mark, the tree and the mystical mountain ridges by themselves alone would make for a stellar shot; together, framed as here, you've created a bit of magic. Beautifully done.

Of course, it would look much better in the proper Trees thread ;)

In B&W, with a red filter, that would look equally arresting

Being stuck in winter, I am glad to have seen many of these fine images.

Sorry for the faux pas Bill, just wanted to participate in the topic.

I have to ask, is there a tern or seagull setting on the end of the lower right branch? I can imagine a bird flying in against the apparent wind direction as given by the stems in the foreground and alighting on the tip of the branch.

I have noticed bird like figures myself but alas there are no birds. It is the natural form of the tree.

I love your red tree, James :)
Over here, in northern Europe, it is winter ... I guess some things are deregulated on this planet : Green grass and even some daisies are flowering ...

I like trees. I don't care if they are in two threads.. Click em for a larger version..

B&W or color ?
been playing around with some oldies and thought this might be a good candidate for this thread.
Shot with a Olympus E-3 & Zuiko 8mmFE.
Distortion correction in ACR using a Nikon 10mm FE preset and adjustment since Adobe doesn't like Olympus ::)
Did a B&W conversion and filter adjustment to add contrastand drama to the sky, then a warm brown -gray duotone to soften.
I think I also might need to shorten the foreground a little and bring the trees down lower in the composition?
Ideas?

Venus di Milo?? Here's one that makes me laugh a little. Enjoy

Saw one this weekend in the Texas Panhandle that I had to make a U-turn to go back and shoot. It was very lonely and appeared to be a victim of the 2011 drought.
