I have an Epson R2880 which refuses to recognise the Photo Black cartridge.
I had been using the printer with the Photo black cartridge and then switched to the Matte Black for printing a load of text. Switching back to the PK cartridge it refuses to recognise it and, within Photoshop, tells me that I still have the MK cartridge inserted.
So far I have tried -
- Switching everything on and off, including printer and PC
- Trying a new PK cartridge
- Swapping the cartridges back and forward.
It is happy enough to recognise the MK cartridge when inserted again.
Has the printer a buffer memory that can be cleared or is it more likely to be a mechanical fault?

An answer from Epson at last.
It's all a question of resetting the cartridge options and the procedure is here -

It also affects the R2100 and R2400
It hadn't happened before and I wonder whether it's a driver issue, I have the latest version, which may be the problem. Oh well, all good at the moment.
