Title: US lenses & gray market Nikon lenses--Question

The question I have is how are you able to tell, identify, if one lens is either US or gray

All of my US lenses have US at the front of the serial number. Seems like I remember something on the NikonUSA site where you could type in the serial number and it will tell you. If not, you could probably email their customer service for help. Be "warned" that Nikon WILL NOT touch a gray market lens for repair or any other reason...
