Title: A couple initial observations about C1 v7
Post by: semillerimages on October 31, 2012, 08:47:10 pm
Hi all,

I'm quite impressed so far with C1 v7 and it's ability to extract detail that neither Lightroom nor Capture NX2 are able to achieve. There's lots of learning yet to do though...

I tethered my Nikon D800E to my 2010 MacBook Pro and was up and running immediately - the program automatically asked me if I wanted to disable the Canon SDK in fact!

What I found is this - the connection would sever itself after about 15 minutes and I had to unplug the USB cable from the computer and plug it back it to start it up again. The captures that were taken when I wasn't aware the connection was disabled apparently were kept in the camera buffer and they downloaded after the connection was re-established. For some reason I cannot find the menu option where it says to keep the camera live to the computer all the time. Also, I cannot find the option for writing to the CF card at the same time as the computer, is there one?

Also, I found that I cannot trigger the camera from the computer when I have the mirror lockup selected on the camera. Is there a work around?

Yes, I haven't read the manual yet... my apologies.

Here's a pic shot tethered to computer today (yes, the style is dated... but I was just playing.)

Cheers!
