What is the best route to take from Salt Lake City to Moab if you're interested in seeing and photographing along the way?
Going via "6" is obviously the quickest but it looks rather boring once you pass Price?
Tips?

Follow any way on the map down including US 6. Make sure you have plenty of time for serendipity. In my many trips to Utah and within, I've never have been disappointed with any route!

If you like Petroglyphs, take a detour in Price and spent half a day in Nine Mile Canyon.

I need to do a Photoguide to this area some day. :)

Is there a part of Utah that doesn't deserve a photoguide?
I'm thinking it is probably possible to do one for every significant area, including the lakes!

Nine Mile Canyon is worth much, much more than a half day to get a good dose of it! But wait, there's more...!

Nine mile canyon is easily worth an entire weekend.
To get the best out of it, you need to really camp there.
It's a long way from Price to the petroglyph area and it's a challenge to drive back in the dark.
You can camp or rent a cabin here http://www.ninemilecanyon.com/
That said, I don't know if many people enjoy petroglyphs enough to spend time in Nine Miles canyon
vs the Arches/Canyonlands area. Most people that are not retired have to set priorites vacation wise. :)
