Title: New film: Jerry and Maggie: This is not Photography
Post by: Eric Myrvaagnes on October 05, 2012, 12:26:10 pm
A documentary film about Jerry Uelsmann and Maggie Taylor has just been released by Lynda.com, and you can watch it for free on their website.

I am pleased that they included one of my photographs (yes, they asked; and yes, they paid me.) It is an informal portrait of Minor White taken during a workshop in 1966, and it appears at about the 10-minute mark in the segment on "Jerry's story."

Oops! A correction is in order. I watched the first two segments (Opening Titles and Jerry's Story) for free, and then posted my note here. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to watch it without signing up for a membership.

Then, when I went back for the next segment, they asked me to join. So it's only free for those two segments. To see the rest, you need to buy a membership, which is $25 (per month) for the least expensive category (but then you need to cancel before the next month's bill if all you want is the film.

They do have lots of good tutorial videos on lots of topics, and I have used a number of them in the past. Of course, they're not as much fun as the Michael and Jeff show or the Michael, Jeff, and Eric Chan show.

I'll be watching the rest of the video later this weekend.
