I've been working on getting some closeups of Dahlia's in Oregon. They are really beautiful flower and I am trying to convey the beauty in these closeups.
C&C's very welcome.
Thanks,
Steve

They have sort of an "HDR" look that I normally detest, at least in landscapes. But here the effect seems to work, for me.
Nice work.

I agree with the HDR comment. I don't like HDR on landscape either, if it is done too much. These are not HDR but they do have quite a bit of post processing.
Thanks,
Steve

I like the vibrancy. It seems natural, if a little startling. I think the colours are meant to be attention-getting.
The composition of the first one is the most appealing to me.

I thought "oh, flowers, how nice" and almost didn't look at the large versions. Glad I did. Awesome kick-butt flower shots! Print 'em big, they're that good. However you got them, the textures and micro-highlights are wonderful and make the shots.

Steve, have you considered shooting for a seed catalog? Those guys are the best flower shooters around, and it looks as if you're in that class.

Great processing! Makes them look backlit. Well done!
Mike.
