Title: Pitcher Plant
Post by: Chris Calohan on August 05, 2012, 09:50:57 pm
An odd carniverous plant that grows around my area. I like them because they eat (trap and digest) mosquitoes and other bugs. With all the rain we've endured this last month and a half, a nice plant to have.

I chose to record this as a B&W because I have a difficulty in working strong reds and greens together.

Marvellous B&W rendering Chris.

The image really lent itself to B&W with all the wonderful shapes and textures.
I like the tonality of the image as well.

BTW it good to see you out and about at last.

Regards

Tony Jay

Good to be out again, though it is raining yet once again...I feel like I am in SE Asia during monsoon. Thanks for the comments. I've really worked hard the last few months in improving my B&W rendering.

I chose to record this as a B&W because I have a difficulty in working strong reds and greens together.

Interesting approach to dealing with the "too much colour" problem that occasionally surfaces.
Still, I'd like to see something made of those bizarre patterns.
On the other hand, the shapes and textures your image are plenty bizarre enough. Nicely done.

Great texture, composition and tones. Well done, and good luck with the moskis
