Title: fEE message on my lens
Post by: wittsend2 on July 04, 2012, 08:50:53 pm
When I attempted to use my nikkor 70-180 macro on my D300, i got an  fEE flashing in the viewfinder. The auto focus works but I can't get a meter reading regardless of the mode I am in. I attempted to use it in manual mode and the same thing occurs. I know it probably needs to go see the doctor, but thought I would ask if there is anything I can try before sending it in. Thanks for your time.

Do you have the lens set to F/22? You need to control the aperture through the control wheels on the camera, and the lens must be fully stopped down for this to work.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I have stopped the lens down and locked the aperture ring at F32 but it still gives me the fEE reading. Thanks again and have a great day.
