Title: LR4 and Canon G9
Post by: walter.sk on July 03, 2012, 04:08:57 pm
I have been using my old Canon G9 for years as my camera for when I don't lug the big stuff.  I went to process one of its RAW images in LR 4.1, with no problem.  However, under Lens Corrections I could not find a Canon G9 profile.  Is it possible that Adobe stopped using them, or are they still available?

I didn't think Adobe ever had a lens profile for the G9 ... I know it's not listed as a supported camera for the lens database in LR 4.

Yup, not even the recent G1X has a lens correction profile in LR 4.1, which is really annoying...

You can download it from Adobe, I have posted one profile there quite some time ago and I can see there is one more available, mine is rated as 4.6 and the other as 5.0

Thanks for the heads up on your profile.  I'll go get it.  I'm surprised that LR4.1 can't find it automatically.

I tried downloading profiles from CS6 Lens Correction filter as well as from the ACR Lens Correction, but could not locat G9 profiles.  Is there a way to download them directly from the Adobe website?

Try the Adobe Lens Profile Downloader tool, that's the quickest tool to use, this tool is available as a separate free download from Adobe. The two profiles available are for raw only, not jpeg.
