I'm unfortunately too tied up with other life activities to delve into the complex and arcane aspects of printing fine art images, as much as it interests me.
I do have some images that I would like printed by a master printer. One who can apply needed photoshop tweaks and then print for me. I shoot medium format film and digital, focusing mostly on street, candids, and some landscape. I process in Lightroom and Photoshop.
Can you recommend a master printer in the USA or Canada who is accepting outside work from amateur photographers such as myself?
I am willing to pay well for the talent.
Many thanks.

I wouldn't go so far as to say I'm a master printer, but I do what you describe. Www.danecreekprinting.com. Several other regular here do as well, I'm sure they will chime in.

I recommend Dan Berg at Dan Berg's Canvas Gallery. He's done some work for me, not a lot but it has been excellent.

Very kind of you Peter, thank you.

I'll add Rob at www.lightroom.com.

I second the recommendation for Dan Berg. I've seen his work, which is high quality and he also has good attention to detail in all aspects of his work
OTOH you may want someone near you so you can back and forth test prints easier. Didn't say where you were located

How about the guy who put fine art Inkjet on the map, way back in the early 1990’s? Mac Holbert formally of Nash Editions.

There are obviously a number of printers on this forum who could serve your needs. It is nice to hear you seeking out somebody with a focus on quality and skill and not just the cheapest printer you can find. As another poster recommended it can be beneficial to find somebody close so you can actually visit their studio and meet them in person.
I manage a small custom fine art printing studio in Brooklyn NY called Ken Allen Studios (http://www.kenallenstudios.com) under the direction of Ken Allen. I have been apprenticing under him for the past 3 years and I would certainly call him a master printer. If you want to try us out the first print is on us. There are several other studios in NYC like Laumont and Griffith Editions as well.
Best,
Patrick Allen

Hi All,
Its been some time since I posted this question and resurrecting it to see if any new recommendations emerge. Hopefully it would be useful to other readers as well. thanks in advance!

It seems at though you may be more interested in gun control than fine art printing but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. As Robcat asked you two years ago - it would be most useful if we knew your location. There are thousands of high quality printers all over the world and it would be utter folly to try to list all of them here. Also helpful would be your price range and quantity. Many of us do very nice work for wholesale prices and others do awesome work for big bucks. - Jim

This comment is irrelevant and rude.

Hum, well we get a lot more posts here at LuLa in one day then a year's worth RetouchPro forum you frequent. So humor lands in The Coffee Corner.
Chris, be gone is the right answer!

Mike, Mac Holbert is a neighbor in the next state, (he's in Ashland OR which is quite lovely) and few people have done more for the fine art print industry than Mac. Mac is also very hands on in terms of working with his clients. I think you'll be pleased with his work.
