Title: Elgol - revisited!
Post by: Dave (Isle of Skye) on April 30, 2012, 01:23:55 pm
Hi all,

Another image from last week's instruction holiday. I have been back to Elgol quite a few times since I moved up here to the IoS and even though it is a very photogenic place to be, it is also a very hard place to photograph. However, I took the students out last Thursday and we/I got this.

Nice capture!

Appears slightly (and I mean slightly) overcooked in the sun region, especially yellows appear a bit over-saturated and crunchy. Perhaps slight negative clarity would help?  The clouds appear a bit on the cyan side too. Nothing major, I am sure a lot of people will love it just as-is.

Beautiful image and I agree with Slobodan, the yellow is a bit too strong in the sky although I like the glow on the foreground and on western slopes of the Cuillins.

Well done!

Yes the yellow seems a bit thick, but it does account for the attractive warm light on the foreground stones. Very pleasing overall.
