I saw your post and immediately thought of all the poorly lit, washed out, expansive renditions of this beautiful landmark. I very much like your treatment of it by getting more personal with the geologic structures.

You got very good images, even with sub-optimal light/sky conditions. I agree 100% about the potential of Painted Desert but in these desert regions one must be patient or lucky…

Thanks, they came up a little better than expected. Then again, I had pretty low expectations in that midday sun so I didn't bother to take the DSLR out for that short walk and I settled for the Canon S100.

PS. I don't recall but I think I had to use the integrated 3 stops ND filter
