Very nice, Jeremy. A low sun can do great things in a photograph.

It has a mildly surreal quality that I like, and the sheep almost look like they were cloned in.

I agree. When I first looked at it, I immediately started moving the sheep around (in my mind).
I didn't really find a better location for them.

It would be more visually bucolic without the bright sheep in the leftmost corner, too distracting and unbalanced. Content Aware Fill, anyone?
Alternatively, I would play with a square composition, eliminating the right tree, but keeping the sheep... seems more balanced, to me at least.

Yeah, I think Slobodan's right. That sheep on the left belongs in the upper right corner of the picture. That would create a nice diagonal through the limbs of the tree on the left up to the sheep. The rules of composition would make it a winner.

Damn! Why didn't I think of that!?
P.S. Russ, are you trying to out-sarcasm me? :)

That would be impossible, Slobodan, so I wouldn't even try.

OK, I understand now. I had mused on the nearmost sheep's presence; and CAF is indeed a wondrous thing.
Here are (in order):
- one for Slobodan;
- another for Slobodan (yes, a few branches need to be deleted);
- one for Russ (please add a big red line showing the diagonal, Russ, in case I've made a mistake);
- and one for Monty Python (see here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=GB&v=Vkw2DdoskPY)).
Jeremy
PS: no sheep were cloned in the making of the original image, and none harmed in the subsequent foolery either.

Now, if only you would do the Monty Python one as a square... :P
In all seriousness, I find the #2 (square) the most balanced.
