Hello all
Epson 3880 on a MBP 10.6.8, PS4, worked without problem until today. Now it started to print inverted or to use a more accurate term "solarised". So far I couldnt find any hint why it does that. Changed settings and papers, no luck
Is this a known issue and how to resolve it. Do I need to remove the pilot and reinstall or something???
Thank you

do you think this problem came after the recent apple update for epson printers that came in march?
I think I got dark and grey prints after that one. Printed just fine to 4900 before.
(works fine now but I re-istalled the printer driver from epson.co.uk , and did an unhide of the library from terminal and put some icc profiles into colour sync folder (which probably does not matter since the printer driver has a folder with icc profiles but I do not know if it matters))

No, I tried serveral set ups including to print from an older backup on an other mac. I am doing a firmware update on the printer now, if it doesnt work... still under warranty :)
PS: the only thing I changed recently was to set the printer to paper lustre / photo black and then switched back to matte/matte black. the lustre print was ok, the matte paper print was solarised

so here is a visual....
and how it should look (taken from my website)

That sure is solarized or something!
I went and fetched a pc and tried a print, and it was perfect trying an Adobe RGB test image from pc http://www.pixl.dk/download/
Have you considered fetching a pc and printing from some application that can handle Adobe RGB, like elements, Lightroom or Photoshop version 6 or above (meaning ps 6 or above, not cs6)
The print driver dialogue is a bit confusing at first in the windows version. I was very surprised it had changed a bit.
apple and printing has had some problems...(this particular problem has been resolved, but it illustrates that there have been issues) http://www.getcolormanaged.com/color-management/mac-osx-epson-and-photoshop-cs4/

I hate to ask the obvious, but have you tried a nozzle check?
To me it looks like the black ink is missing.

Yeah, looks just like what I got when I went from Gloss to Matte black recently. Looks like the black is just not printing. Taking out the cartridge and giving it a gentle shake did the trick for me.

Thanks a lot, that helped!
I didnt think about doing the mozzle check as it wasnt a problem that same morning ::) It is working great now...
Many thanks again!
