Title: Need advice on what went wrong with my film
Post by: Simon DeSantis on April 04, 2012, 11:00:36 am
I recently bought a Pentax 67 which so far I love. However some frames on one of the rolls I recently shot with it came out with some funny blue smears on them. I can't tell if I fogged the film, scanned it incorrectly, experienced a chemistry problem or something else happened. Any advice would be much appreciated. It affects several frames on the roll (but not another roll shot the same day). Possibly all frames are affected but I can only see it clearly in shadow areas. Below is one frame that shows the blue smearing.

The film, by the way, is Portra 400.

Try to put the negatives another time in the C41 stabilizer if you can see the smears on the negatives.
Search for "C-41 Stabilizer" on http://www.bonavolta.ch/hobby/en/photo/c41_ra4_chemicals.htm
