Title: Door in New Mexico

Not exactly a landscape but I thought I'd post it anyway. Hope that's OK. Comments welcome

Wow - spectacular colours!
FWIW, I see this as a square format image as my eye is dragged out of the image to either side by the details on the left and the background in the top right. I envision it cropped almost to the edge of the wooden lintels above the door and window.

You may be right. I've been bothered by the left edge. Here are two variations.

Yes, almost, nearly -

But don't crop the top off!!!

Then the square rendering (#2) would be great.

Agree.  I think the crops work better and even seeing more of the background right in the first crop works because of its harmonious blue shade.  Maybe including more of the top to "keep it square" would help to diminish the tilted effect.  I think from the angle you took the image, if you leveled the door, the top of the wall would be tilted, so leveling further would not work.

In the original it looks as though you were trying to include the hanging flowers on the right, but in order to get that all in you would have cut the rock in half.  Therefore, I think cropping out the right and also the rock makes good sense because those elements do not add anything important to the image of the doors.

I really like scenes like this where you do not try too include too much while maintaining a nice balance.

Nice color of blues, reds, and brown!

Another nice image might have been a close-up of the door handle.

The cropped versions are a bit better in my opinion but that beautiful blue… Wow!

I agree with John and Rambler: Keep it square but include all of the top.
Very nice image!
