Title: seahorsecases. Is it worth?
Post by: fredjeang on February 22, 2012, 05:27:53 pm
Hi,

Didn't really know where to put that, as it concerns everything. Please, move this thread if you thing it's in the wrong section.

I've just discovered this: http://www.seahorsecases.com/

Do you know this brand? Is it Pelican quality? Quality-Price looks good. Made in USA.

Thanks.

I don't know about those, but I used these Starlight cases (http://www.starlightcases.com/) for the last few decades.. even jumped out of planes with them, ran them over with big trucks, they're probably the strongest toughest case out there.  Their wheels and handle sets are first class all the way.  These are what I use when I Fedex my gear ahead of me.  With the high density foam they can't be beat.  Oh.. and the business is owned/operated by a disabled vet.  Good gear.

Yes, the Starlight cases are used by military units, included Nato. So it tells a lot about their quality.

The thing is that there is no dealer in Spain, although I found a dealer in Germany for the starlight (military equipment supply) and mail them about shipping costs. From the US it's generally too expensive (can be higher than the case itself depending on the model).

Best regards.

Not yet, still waiting for Germany to send me the price list.
They take their time so I'll probably look elsewhere.

Here are the dealers in Europe, very few: http://www.starlightcases.com/dealers.html
Go on the bottom page.

Also, Fesa wich is a Spanish company is doing good stuff for good price. Check their products.

In Madrid you have many places to buy directly but those are OK: http://www.palbox.net/index.html (carretera de Toledo)
and http://maletasestancas.com/ (Carrabanchel area)

Best
