Two from the weekend.
Scott
-
I like the first one the better, the snow on the grass at least for me give it something extra.
-
Definitely #2 for me. Almost abstract, with gentle, muted colors. Horizontally falling snow added a lot to the atmosphere of a cold, windy, barren landscape.

#2 without the top third

Slobodan’s description of #2 is mostly on the mark except for the term “barren,” which doesn’t quite fit the scene.
Anywho it is a very painterly winter-scape capture. The blurred snow grabs the eye subtly and works to soften. It’s the kind of place and conditions I like to hike in during this time of year.
Nicely done!

I vote for #2, exactly as you made it (not cropped). Very nice!

Not to be a fence sitter, but I like them both for different reasons...
Mike.

#1 is my first choice with #2 a close second. And like Mike, for different reasons.

Thanks to all for the comments and suggestions.
It was -9, 30 km/h wind and -18 windchill. I wish I had spent more time varying exposure times to better capture the blowing snow, but it was *cold*. This kind of weather tends to focus me on composition instead of technical fiddling, which is probably good.
