Title: Portraits from Nicaragua

I was in Nicaragua for a week in early November to audit some in-home biosand filters we help to install in developing countries.  These are some of the people we met who rely on the filter for clean(er) water.

What an experience.  As a landscape photographer, I was way out of my element.  I wish Russ was there with me!

Dave, I think you did just fine without Russ. I like all of them. The only criticism I have is the first two are a little underexposed.

Thanks.  You're right about the underexposure.  It is so dark in their homes I get dark on the brain.  Here are a few more...

Olympus epl-2, usually with the Lumix 20mm lens.  Very frustrating camera actually (at least for me). I seem to fight it all the time, and I still can't figure out how to use fill flash on the thing. If it is in aperture priority and "fill flash" it blows everything out. Had to go manual or usually just leave off the flash.

Last year I ditched my dslr and moved to this camera and a MF Alpa technical camera. The Oly was good because it was unobtrusive to them, just not to me! I need to find a better solution.
