Title: DM33, What can you tell me about it?
Post by: aknicholas on November 13, 2011, 08:17:00 pm
I'm thinking about buying a used (camera store demo model) DM33. Does anyone have any information to offer about the DM33? Any idea how much it is worth in near mint condition?

I would say it is worth about $9,000-$10,000.

What would you like to know about it?

i've just bought one... perfect at 50 iso, nearly as perfect at 100 iso, not so bad at 200 iso (it depends on light), not really good at 400 iso.

i quite like how it renders colors... much more natural or even film like than a P45+ ...

the new GUI is nice.

it needs several battery for a complete day of shooting.

is your shop selling the complete kit ? DM33 + DF + 80 Af or Afd or phase one or SK ?

The DM33 is a pretty nice system.

I prefer it over the 40mp DM40 even though they costs the same. The DM33 has a sensor with a 1.1 crop factor as opposed to the 1.3 crop factor of the DM40.

The 33 has a Dalsa sensor (it’s a Leaf back in mufti) and many consider the colour better than Phase’s.

The ISO caveats are spot on.
