just reading the DP review of the 5N which mentions micro focus adjust
what is there to adjust with CD AF?

There isn't. It's there for when using A series lenses via an adaptor.

theoretically (I am not talking about this case, where adjustment is for PDAF adapter) you still can have focus shift, like you are focusing using one aperture for CDAF and taking an actual shot w/ another aperture...

true even for manual focusing unless you stop down in liveview (which is awkward on most cameras)
it would be nice if it were easy to select focus at the aperture set - at least when there's enough light

But then focusing accuracy is diminished because of greater DOF. There's no free lunch.
