Title: What are these spots on my print?
Post by: Paul_M on September 24, 2011, 02:06:18 pm
Hi Everyone,

Thanks for looking.  I've gotten ink spots like this on a couple of prints, not consecutive, and it's in the same place on both.  It's about an inch across.  Epson R3000.  Does anybody know what causes this and how I can prevent it?

Thanks,
Paul

...and in case anyone's wondering why I put my water mark on this, I assure you that was an accident.   ;D

Perhaps try adjusting the platen to wide/wider...

I'm thinking your wheels got ink on them. Take some rubbing alcohol and a q-tip and clean them off?

I once had spots like this from an Epson 3800. Although the maintenance tank reported that it had some room, when I pulled it, I saw that there was a hill of ink in the centre of the tank. Replacing the maintenance tank corrected the problem. I don't have a satisfactory explanation for what happened though.
