Title: Nikon D90 Flash Sync speed.
Post by: special10 on September 19, 2011, 03:45:37 pm
I am having a problem with slow flash sync speeds on my D90.

When I go into the setup menu options to set the flash sync, the max speed is limited to 1/60 sec. I can't seem to set it up the 1/200 sync speed. Does anyone have ideas to get a faster sync?

In Shutter priority, I can set the shutter speed at what ever.

I am using the SB-400, if that matters.

What mode. This flash has a duration of 1/300 sec at full output. That may limit the sync speed.  What can you set it to if you just have the built in flash conected.  Normally the slow speed sync is limited to 1/60 sec by default and the e1 custom function allows the sync speed to be set lower to a lower speed.  I have mine set at 30 sec with the flash set at rear sync.
