Title: Making a splash
Post by: tom b on August 12, 2011, 03:11:29 am
It's called the Northern Water Feature in Olympic Park, Sydney but it deserves a better name.

That third image is a winner. Well done in all respects.

Nice images, Tom.  I also prefer the third one.

This is OT, but here in Canada we have the 'eternal flame' on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, and there are various fountains and things at the various provincial legislative buildings - the one here in Victoria is always surrounded by fencing for events like Canada Day - but when my niece was married in Edmonton (8 years and 3 days ago), some of the wedding images were taken at the legislative grounds there.  I was amazed and delighted to see that most of the grounds were dedicated to park-like grounds and a waterpark.  There were families picnicking in the shade of the trees and people playing in the water!  It was exactly what I think the symbol of a government should be - a place made for the people.
