Title: NYC advice
Post by: jayz on July 28, 2011, 07:37:15 pm
my company is sending me to New York City for a conference and it looks like I'll be there during the full moon in August. can any new yorkers suggest where would be a good place to get shots of the full moon on aug 12 or aug 13. not sure where i should be to get some good skyline shots of manhatten with a full moon. would the brooklyn bridge be a good option?

Not sure how the area is at night, but I'd try the Waterfront Park in Weehawken, NJ -- right on the other side of the Hudson River from Manhattan.

I'm pretty sure the moon will be rising in the northeast, but I don't know the moonrise time for that date. I also don't know what time you're shooting, or therefore where the moon will be at that time. It's easy enough to look up times and locations online. If you need to shoot toward the west, I recommend Brooklyn Bridge Park.
