Title: Monitor Choice
Post by: russellsnr on July 10, 2011, 05:56:44 am
Hi, Ok I looked through reviews on site after site and one says this monitor has all I want then another site says oh no it dosn't so I throw myself on the expertise of others, Main use for a 24" IPS monitor or above will be photo editing (Photoshop) I have a Spyder 3 Elite for calibration, I have been seriously considering the Dell U2410 then I read it has had problems with colour and on the Dell site many seem unhappy not only with the monitor but also Dells responce to questions on it.
Again this is only for photgraphic manipulation both for the web and print.
I have about £450 to spend so the big lads are out of my league.
Any advice please
Many Thanks
Russ

Lots of views but no comments?
Anyway also looking at the ASUS PA246Q ProArt
Anyone got a view on either the Dell or the ASUS PA246Q ProArt
Thanks

Consider PA231W - it's a little bit smaller (1920x1080px), normal gamut (~sRGB) eIPS display - but otherwise it has all advantages of mighty NEC PA-series display.

Any NEC Spectraview II you can afford with their software and supported instrument is the way to go IMHO.

Check out the video section on the Anandtech.com forums, they have a monitor recoomendation sticky thread and lots of input. There is an HP 24" IPS about the same price as the Dell you mentioned, might be worth investigating as an alternative, don't know.

Thank you all, going for the NEC MULTISYNC PA231W. seems to have a lot of fans out there.
Again Thanks
