Title: Canon G10 and the hot shoe...
Post by: Michael Nelson on April 25, 2011, 08:36:16 pm
I hate to ask this (here), however, I cannot find how to 'force' the hot shoe to trigger a remote transmitter. I've done it correctly in the past but cannot find out how to do-it-again in the menu or the owners' manual (pages 113 or 269).

Can anyone help?

THANKS...

Michael

I don't have a G10 but do have a G9 and G12. Assuming batteries, etc. (grin), turn off continuous shooting in favor of single shot.

Geeze... As it turns out the hot shoe has been working correctly (i put a flash directly onto the hot shoe) It's the Wein HSHSB hotshoe/pc adapter that is not behaving correctly:(

Sorry 'bout that...

With respect to wireless triggers and non-Canon flash, the G9, G10 and G11 are better than the G12 in that the G12 has "bug" that I refer to as "screen blanking".  I've griped about this, http://lightdescription.blogspot.com/search/label/G12%20bug , in hopes that Canon would issue a firmware fix but nothing has happened -- yet.
