Title: Missing Photographs incorrectly listed
Post by: mpost on April 18, 2011, 07:33:05 am
In Lightroom 3.3 I have under Library, Catalog 105 Missing Photographs showing as missing.  I have clicked on the question mark and found the correct photo in Lightroom.  This all came about when I renamed the photographs outside Lightroom.
After finding the correct name and photograph and resaving the Metadata, the Missing Photographs still reads the same number and the photo still comes up as missing, although it is in its correct folder with the correct now.
I have re-optimized the catalog numerous times, but the photos still appear in the Missing Photographs section.

Any thoughts on how to rectify the catalog?

Can you tell us what computer and operating system you use?

Since you already optimized your catalog (and pointed Lightroom to the "missing" file), I would try to locate the parent folder of the missing photos and synchronize this folder again. I sincerely don't know if it's going to help you but who knows?

Using a MacBook Pro with the lastest MAC OS (10.6.7)

For some reason after optimizing the catalogue a few times and rebooting the computer, the problem seems to have resolved itself as the Missing Photos is now 0.

Last night I also selected all the photographs in the calalog (over 37,000) and re-saved the Metadata. That and the restart seemed to resolve the issue

thanks
