Title: Windy day at the beach
Post by: spbimages on April 03, 2011, 10:27:55 pm
This was a very windy evening and I tried to capture the wind in the image.

I think you did capture the impression of a windswept beach very nicely. This image is a notch above your average beach shot. Nicely done.

This is a lovely picture, very nicely framed, and the dynamic texures in the foreground sand really add to the mood. On the whole, I like the post-processing as well, with an extended mid-range tonality which suits the picture. However, there are some problems where the rocks meet the sky, which look like over-sharpening halos to me. This may only be in the jpeg we are viewing here, of course, and not in your master file. Whatever the cause, they don't look nice, and shriek "digital" at the top of their voice.

I'll go with John here, otherwise very well done!

Thanks for the comments. About where the rock meets the sky. I used Silver Efex to add structure and I might have over done it. I'll look at it some more.
