Title: LR 3 and OS 10.6.7
Post by: schrodingerscat on April 01, 2011, 10:26:15 pm
Greetings -

Was just wondering if anyone has had problems with LR 3 after updating to Mac OS 10.6.7. I usually wait awhile to see how things shake out.

Thanks

No problem so far but I haven't printed yet.

None here either on my 2007 MacPro 8-core or 2010 MacBookPro i7.

Cheers.

Updated, after performing the usual voodoo, and no problems with LR or anything else. Havent't tried printing yet, but not anticipating any fubars. No real screeching on the intertoobs, other than complaints regarding certain font.

I use Canon PIXMA PRO 9000 MKII. When entering Paper Profile I cannot find where to turn Printer Managememt off. I'm double processing and get a strong magenta cast. Any thoughts?

@bobpink

Certainly no issue with LR,  10.6.7 and Canon Pro9000 for me.

Using LR3 and under OS 10.6.7 you don't have to turn colour management off.  It's done automatically for Canon printers as soon as you choose the printer profile in LR's Print Module.  Colorsync is automatically chosen - every other option is greyed out in the printer driver.  As long as you have chosen the correct media setting in the driver, and assuming the Canon test prints show heads all clear and aligned, everything should be OK.

I'm assuming you're using a Canon paper and the appropriate profile.  Third party papers are another thing, as the correct media setting can be a lottery and, in my experience, the only way to get good profiles is to build them yourself.

Have you looked at the prints in daylight? - the issue is not to do with your local lighting?

Good luck

Tim

I'm running 10.6.7 on my 2007 MacPro 8-core and 2010 MacBookPro i7 with no issues. I use Lightroom 3 and Photoshop CS5 on both machines and print to my Epson 3880.

It's a mac so it's supposed to just work! LOL!

Cheers.
