Title: Initial portion of print is skipped
Post by: markdfink on March 09, 2011, 01:21:12 pm
I was trying to make a 24x52 print the other day using the Custom Package. I create two cells, one to hold the image, the other to hold a black border that goes around it. Actually, it is solid black, but that cell sits behind the image cell effectively making a black border. (I print on canvas, and this gives me a Museum Wrap effect.)

I've done this ever since LR3 came out without any problems. Except the other day when, after looking at the preview - which looked fine - the printer started receiving the job and spit out about 6-8 inches of blank canvas and then started printing. What it skipped in those 6-8 inches was the black border and part of the image itself. Basically, it started printing 6-8 inches into the print, rather than from the beginning as it should have.

As a test, I opened the image, without the black border, in Photoshop from within LR3. Once in Photoshop, I sized it to the same size as before, expanded the canvas size to allow room for the black border, did a fill on that new empty space and wound up with an identical print in Photoshop as I did in the LR3 preview. However, printing from Photoshop, everything worked just fine!

So, the problem doesn't appear to be the print driver, since it works fine from Photoshop, but rather LR3. Any suggestions on what might be happening?

Thanks!

Mark
