Title: FS: Mamiya Super 23 modified to accept H-mount backs + Sekor 2.8/100mm
Post by: fotolli on January 12, 2011, 03:09:31 pm
I am giving up on a project.

I thought it a brilliant idea to have a rangefinder camera that would accept my Phase One Back in H-mount. So I fitted a Phase One Flex adapter plate to the back of a Mamiya Super 23 and thanks to the extendable belows at the back of the camera it can be adjusted to match with the rangefinder, so that focusing works quite well.

The lens is the superb and rather rare 2,8/100mm, so that the kit would make for an excellent available light portrait camera, since one should theoretically be able to hold 1/15th of a second.

It sort of works, but I don´t really have any use for it anmore.

So I would like to seell it for what the sngle parts are worth. I think the lens is about 300$, the Flexadapter 350$ and the body about 50$, since it is missing one of the lock knobs, but works, if you have a screw driver to tighten it.

So I´d say 700$ OBO for the lot

So, you'll pay $700 for someone to take it?

How does it sync to the back? Would it work with an Aptus?

It syncs via the flash sync on the lens and the submini link on the back. So you need that cable, which usually comes with the back. You have to select the type of camera in the menu of your aptus back, so that the back knows. I have tried it with  a Leaf Valeo and it works flawlessly.

Excellent work. May you please show some pictures taken from your setup?

I wonder if Mamiya 7 can be done in the same way. It will be very interesting to see the result from a legendary 80mm lens.
