Title: Anything similar to gottschalt digi 20...flat stitch on both axes with dslr
Post by: marcwilson on January 04, 2011, 04:48:44 pm
Are there any other set ups similar to that of the gottschalt digi 20?
http://www.gottschalt.de/de/kameras_04.html
I.E. allowing for shift on both x and y axes with a 35mm dslr on rear and medium format lenses on front.

I want to use lenses of about 35mm upwards so the cambo bellows cameras etc are too lens restricted and am only interested in flat stitching in both axes..i.e camera in portrait mode. shifted down to compose and then three seperate shots moving across to stitch together.

Thanks,

Marc

What does flat stitching do for you that a spherical panohead can't do?  My panohead can do both, but spherical shooting is faster and more flexible (No limit to FOV)

Hard to find out any information about it such as cost, lenses, shift amount, etc

After trying both, my view as well. Time is the worst enemy of the stitcher, and spherical is indeed typical faster.
