Now getting into replacing smaller items after insurance payout for stolen gear.
Had a Canon RS80 basic remote release, but for similar money can get Chinese brand interval timer/remote on ebay, either cable or wireless, which is more equivalent to v. expensive canon TC80 remote.
Any experience of these?

Hi Nigel,
I've had some good experiences with stuff from www.phottix.com (http://www.phottix.com).
Cheers,

I've also got some Phottix accessories and no complaints about them.
If you want the 'mac-daddy' of remotes/interval timers, this is the one (http://www.promotesystems.com/products/Promote-Control.html).

I've just ordered 3rd party canon TC80. It should arrive in a week. I've read positive reviews of it online. I'll be sure to do a quick review for you when it arrives.

Who did u order from?

I have had one for two years. Aside from the logo, it looks and works identically to the Canon variety. I think I paid $40 for it and I think canon wants over $150. To me, it was worth the risk.
