Title: Embossed Photo
Post by: slatchley on November 24, 2010, 06:56:30 pm
I recently saw a framed Aaron Siskind photograph that looked as if it had been embossed into the paper. Is this a litho or some other process or is there some way to do this as I thought it added a nice touch.

It's probably a photo-gravure or FP (foto-polymer) print. You can recognise those on the emboss effect from the plate which they are printed from.
I recently saw some absolutely amazing photo gravures by Sugimoto and actually some by Robert Adams.
