Title: Unicorns & The New 28 mm XL
Post by: JoeKitchen on November 14, 2010, 06:44:47 pm
Anybody see any images from this elusive lens yet?  I know the engineering on this lens must be intense, but we have been hearing about it for a year now and some of us have even seen a sample, but any test shots out there?

From what I understand, though the Unicorn had exceptional magical abilities, the Horn was just too big in the original design and required some re-engineering.  Though the Uni-Max is available for order on Alpa's site, many of the original sightings have been revealed as hoaxes.

Hey Joe:

Schneider is busy working on a new wide-angle (very small) focusing helical which they had at the Expo.  Uli showed me the new design which is quite nice, although I think it was on a different lens.  Once they get this into production the 28 should follow shortly after, maybe in the spring.  Alpa will certainly have them available since they are one of Schneider's biggest customers.
