Title: Turkey – 1978
Post by: tom b on November 10, 2010, 08:09:27 pm
Whilst we have Istanbul '85 I thought it would be appropriate to have Turkey '78. The B&W images were either over exposed or over developed and I only got to see them in any decent form 25 years later when I digitised them. Great food and friendly people.

I particularly like the image of the men playing the game at the table. Only suggestion I would make would be to try and move your shooting position to exclude the person in foreground left - he's distracting.

A great storytelling image, I've not seen anything like it.

The game of course is dominoes which is a popular game in Turkey. Maths teachers seem to love the game too and I have drawn a number of domino illustrations for intensive language students and primary students.

I'd love to be back there taking pictures but I get my holidays in December/January which is winter there. I would especially love to go back to Cappadocia but it is cold and snow covered at that time. Just google 'ballooning cappadocia" to see what I want to do.

Cheers,

That would be fantastic!

Thanks for sharing--I too love the shot of the dominoes game.
